Inuyama, next to Unuma, boasts one of Japan’s top five most beautiful castles. Inuyama Castle is unique because it hasn’t been adapted for tourists, retaining its original, uneven stairs designed to deter intruders. Surrounded by the Kiso River, the area offers a variety of hotels where you can enjoy a hot bath with water from the river.
Next to the castle, you’ll find Jōkamachi, literally translating to “the street behind the castle.” Here, you can indulge in Japanese food, drinks, Inuyama brews, and even rent a kimono for the day!
